Descriptive:
Harold, the crown prince of Stalb, had performed his duties perfectly up until now. He studied hard, honed his sword skills, earned the trust of the nobles through social interactions, and married Fiona, the princess of a neighboring country, as a sign of friendship. He had been married for two years, and Fiona was an ideal person to be the crown princess. Harold thought that they were the perfect couple, and that with her he would be able to rule his country without any problems. However, on the night that Harold returned from an expedition after settling a dispute with a neighboring country, Fiona, who was supposed to be the perfect wife, told him, “I want to go back to my country.”

In the darkness of the night, the door to a room in the royal castle opened, and a young man with silver hair and blue eyes with a bold appearance walked in, brushing back his wet hair. A black-haired woman narrowed her eyes at him and welcomed him.
“–Harold-sama, thank you for your hard work on this expedition.”
“Oh, thank you.”
Harold nodded generously to the words of appreciation from the black-haired woman – his wife, Fiona – and sat down on the bed. He took a deep breath and looked at his beautiful wife before him. Seeing her, it finally dawned on Harold that he had finally finished his months-long expedition.
“Have the disputes at the border calmed down?”
“Yeah. It’s finally come to an end. It took a long time for a minor skirmish that didn’t even have a big trigger… well, disputes between ethnic groups often take a long time to settle.”
At first, Harold, as the crown prince, had no intention of intervening in the dispute that broke out on the border between the country of Stalb, whose father, the king, ruled, and the neighboring country to the south. However, what should have started as a small commotion gradually grew in scale, and the border margrave, who was in charge of the border, was unable to resolve the matter on his own, and the opposing country’s royal family became involved. As a result, Harold, as the crown prince, was forced to lead an expeditionary force a few months ago. Now that the matter has finally come to an end, it was time for him to return to the royal capital.
Harold glanced at Fiona in front of him. She had black hair and eyes, and snow-white skin, but she was not from Stalb. She was the princess of Bucks, a small country adjacent to the north of Stalb, the complete opposite of the people he was fighting with. Two years had passed since she was married off to Harold as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
“Fiona”
When he called her name, Fiona quietly approached Harold. As she sat down next to him, Harold picked up a strand of her long black hair. Surprisingly, Harold liked this jet black color, which was rare in his country. Those around Harold were louder than others praising his silver hair and blue eyes, which were the colors unique to the country’s royalty, but to Harold, her black hair seemed more beautiful than his own silver hair, which he was used to seeing.
“Harold-sama.”
Fiona called out Harold’s name, and as if recalling what was to come next, her dark eyes moistened as she leaned against Harold. He reflexively tried to reach out to her slender waist, but Harold forcefully held his hand back.
“…Let’s stop for today.”
“…”
With that, he gently laid Fiona on the bed. It seemed as if her eyes wavered a little, but it was so brief that I thought I was mistaken. She quietly muttered, “Okay,” and quietly laid her body on the pillow.
“Harold-sama, can we assume that this has settled things for now?”
“Yes, that’s true. We have concluded a number of agreements with our neighboring countries… From now on, we will be turning our attention to domestic affairs together with His Majesty. His Majesty is still in good health, so I don’t think there will be any talk of me taking over the throne anytime soon.”
“Is that so… then.”
Fiona lowered her eyes for a moment, then turned them towards Harold. Harold saw a certain determination in the depths of her eyes, but he was still relaxed, lying in bed with his wife for the first time in a long time.
For that reason, when he heard her next words, he froze for a moment.
“May I go back to my country for a while?”
“—-teeth?”
…Harold was proud that he had fulfilled his role as the crown prince without any shortcomings. From the moment he was born as the eldest son of the current king and queen, it was decided that Harold would one day inherit the country. He studied hard, honed his sword skills, and earned the trust of the nobles through social interactions. He then married Fiona as a sign of friendship, and this time he settled a quarrel during an expedition. His perfect behavior as the crown prince earned him a good reputation among the people, and anyone could say that he was a proper crown prince.
Harold had always thought that Fiona was the same. When he first met Fiona, even though he knew she was his future wife, he didn’t feel anything special. From Harold’s perspective, he was used to seeing beautiful and educated women, and marriage was merely something that was necessary for royalty. Well, her color was unusual and caught Harold’s eye, though.
However, as he spent time with her, Harold began to feel a similarity to himself in Fiona. She was a “proper” royal, just like Harold. As the princess of Bucks, she had grown up without any lack of knowledge, manners, beauty, or social skills, and even after marrying, she was able to fulfill her duties as the crown princess of Stalb, where he didn’t know anyone, and her presence was a source of security for Harold.
She was a woman with no shortcomings as a wife. Harold was proud of himself, thinking that they were the most righteous crown prince and princess, and that with her he could rule over Stalb. –But what had she just said?
“Fiona, what just happened…”
“I said I wanted to go back to my country.”
Harold had a faint hope that he had misheard something due to exhaustion from the expedition, but Fiona dismissed it. She said that she wanted to leave the country as matter-of-factly as if she were telling him her plans for the next day.
“Wh-why? Why all of a sudden?”
“It’s not sudden. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. I wasn’t able to tell you while you were away on an expedition.”
Unable to comprehend the way she spoke so matter-of-factly, Harold got up from the bed. She remained lying there, gazing up at Harold with calm eyes. It seemed as though she did not see even the slightest bit of his agitation.
“The dispute with the neighboring country has been settled, and I’m now turning my attention to domestic affairs. And if I’m not planning on inheriting the throne anytime soon, then isn’t that a good idea? The social season has just ended, and my sister-in-law, Mirianna, has said she will take over some of my duties.”
“Milianna? You told her that? Why?”
“Why?”
Millianna was Harold’s younger sister, two years younger than Fiona. Harold was aware that they had built a fairly friendly relationship as sisters-in-law, but he never dreamed that they had discussed returning to their countries. Fiona’s words, filled with surprise, made her smile, the corners of her mouth turning up. Her expression was different from the usual beautiful, perfect smile she always wore; it was an unfamiliar one, as if she had given up and was tired.
“I’m just a little… tired.”
Harold was speechless at the sight of Fiona’s expression, which he had never seen before, and the complaint she muttered. It was also the first time he had seen his wife complain like that.
“I will be sleeping in a separate room tonight. I’m sure you’re tired, Harold-sama, so you’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep if you’re alone. I said this right after returning from the expedition without considering how tired you were… I’m sorry.”
“Fiona, wait.”
For the past two years, whenever he called her name, Fiona would turn her beautiful black eyes towards him and answer with a cool voice, “Yes, Lord Harold,” but she didn’t respond to his words. She just slipped out of bed, opened the door to her private room which was connected to the couple’s room, and disappeared behind it. Harold, who was always known as the calm and correct crown prince, could only stare blankly at the closed door without moving a muscle.
There was an awkward atmosphere at the breakfast table the next day.
Harold and Fiona would have breakfast together unless they had official business to attend to. They would check each other’s plans for the day, share information they had, and chat about casual things; the atmosphere was always calm and the maids serving could usually sense the closeness between the two, but today, the two remained silent, and the heavy atmosphere made even the professional maids unable to hide their agitation.
They weren’t a couple who always had a constant conversation, but the sight of Harold, the crown prince, glancing at Fiona as if he wanted to say something, but then not saying a word as he stuffed some bread into his open mouth and washed it down with tea, and Fiona, who must have noticed Harold but didn’t even look at him, was something she had never seen before.
“Fiona”
“Yes, what is it?”
When Harold finally called her name, Fiona turned to face him. Seeing that her condition hadn’t changed, the maids breathed a sigh of relief. Something had happened that was bothering His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, but the Crown Princess didn’t seem to mind too much – that might be the situation, they predicted.
“Um, when are you going back to your country?”
“As for me, I can go back tomorrow.”
However, the maids were in shock as the conversation continued. What on earth could it mean for the Crown Princess to return to her country?
Harold, who had no time to worry about the maids’ confusion, simply repeated Fiona’s meaningless words in his mouth, “Tomorrow.”
Tomorrow. Fiona, who I finally got to see after several months, will be gone tomorrow.
As he thought this, a vague feeling took over his heart.
“That is… how long is it planned to last?”
“The period… I haven’t decided on anything in particular. Lord Harold has been away on an expedition for four months… so would it be okay for me to be away for that long as well?”
“Yo”
Harold muttered something and was speechless, unable to continue. He barely managed to ask, “What about your official duties?” and she calmly replied, “Lady Millianna said that I would be able to handle my official duties until the next high society season.”
The next season wasn’t to start until six months later. Harold thought that this might be a little better than returning home until then, but four months was still an enormous period of time for him, so he remained silent without being able to answer.
“…May I speak to Millianna and Her Majesty for a moment?”
“Yes. I’ll leave it to you.”
Fiona nodded, her expression unchanged and calm. In contrast, Harold’s expression was tense and he didn’t look like his usual calm and composed self at all.
“Milianna, what on earth did you and Fiona talk about?”
Harold asked in a slightly raised voice as he visited Millianna, who was having tea on the balcony after her tutoring lessons. Millianna, his younger sister, calmly put down her cup and blinked her blue eyes, the same color as his, saying, “My brother.” Anyone other than her would have been astonished by the anger on the rarely seen face of the crown prince.
“From what I can see, your sister-in-law has spoken of returning to her parents’ home.”
“Yes, he did. How did that come about, that you would be acting as his deputy for official duties…”
“…I suggested that you go back to your parents’ home.”
Millianna’s matter-of-fact words caused Harold’s brow to crease deeply. Millianna must have noticed his anger and doubts, but she showed no sign of being flustered, which only fuelled Harold’s anger.
Harold’s younger sister, Millianna, was always like this. Although she was serious about her education as a member of the royal family to a certain extent, she didn’t care much about “being royal”. Compared to Harold, she was spoiled and, to put it bluntly, was free, for better or worse. In the past, there were times when I wanted her to be a bit more serious, and I even scolded her directly a few times, but she would just say “You’re too serious, big brother. You should relax a bit.” Now I don’t talk about it to her face. Because I now fully understand that this is just her personality.
“Do you think I seduced my sister-in-law?”
“I suppose so, if you suggested it. I can’t imagine she would make such a choice of her own accord.”
Harold frowned as he answered. Yes, it was hard for Harold to imagine that Fiona, who had been performing her duties as the Crown Princess perfectly, would suddenly say something like that.
Seeing her brother, who seemed to be completely suspicious of Millianna, she let out a deep sigh.
“Well, that may be true, sister-in-law, but… have you heard the reason why she wants to go home, brother?”
“Well… you said you were tired.”
“If you’re tired, you should let me rest.”
“…What are you tired of?”
“…Brother is always like that.”
Millianna’s blue eyes fixed sharply on Harold. Her voice was unexpectedly cold, causing Harold to flinch just a little.
“Of course it’s tiring, coming from a small country all by yourself to marry into Stalb, carrying out official duties while being glared at by the young lady who was hoping to become your brother’s wife and her parents, your brother being away on an expedition and never around, people whispering things like when will you have a child, that you have some sort of health problem, that maybe you should have suggested taking a mistress yourself, that maybe the marriage itself was a mistake, and so on.”
“Wait, what’s that story?”
Harold interrupted Millianna. Although he had guessed the first half, the second half – especially the part about the child – was something Harold hadn’t grasped.
“I’ve said many times that now is not the time to have children.”
“Yes. After the conflict with the neighboring country is settled. Because I won’t be able to be by her side when my sister-in-law becomes pregnant… Everyone knows that.”
“Then why?”
“Any reason is fine as long as it’s to denounce your sister-in-law. She just wants to portray your brother as a poor prince who sacrificed himself in marriage for the sake of the country’s development. She wants to use that as an excuse to get closer to him, believing that true love exists elsewhere. Or she wants to use that to get closer to her brother and seize power.”
“What is that?”
Harold’s brow furrowed deeply. Millianna saw this and let out a sigh.
“My sister-in-law is also aware of the intentions of those girls and their parents. She doesn’t take it at face value at all, and says that it can’t be helped since a woman she didn’t know suddenly came from another country and became the wife of the crown prince, the object of all the young ladies’ admiration. She also says that it’s fine because she reprimands them on the spot when they make remarks that belittle the royal family. That may be true, but… that doesn’t mean she’s okay with them saying whatever they want when my brother isn’t around.”
“…”
“…You two are very similar, aren’t you? Raised as royalty, you both believe that you live only for your country. You don’t doubt for a second that it’s natural to sacrifice yourself for your country.”
Millianna and Harold used to talk a lot about this. When Harold told her to be more conscious of her royal status, Millianna would always retort that she understood the importance of being conscious, but that there was no need to sacrifice everything. Harold, who had no awareness of the sacrifices he was making, found it difficult to understand her words.
But now that he had heard about Fiona from Millianna, Harold felt that perhaps she had indeed done too much for Stalb. There was no need for him to accept all the unfounded slander as inevitable. Of course, being treated like that would hurt him.
“I was a little hopeful. I thought that my strict brother, who is always doing the right thing, would change after getting married. That he would prioritize his wife or his own feelings, or something like that. But it didn’t work out that way. My sister-in-law is also a proper royal, so instead of changing, my brother has only become more lively and dedicated to his country.”
Harold knew exactly what Millianna was saying. At first, Harold had no particular personal interest in Fiona. She was someone he could have children with and carry on the line of the next generation once the troubles abroad had settled. Looking at the young ladies in his own country, he had thought it would be difficult to deal with them if they were too extravagant in their spending or had no sense of royalty, but to his surprise, Fiona turned out to be a woman who could be called perfect as a royal wife, so he left the social matters to her and focused more on government affairs.
“I… I told my sister-in-law about it. It wasn’t what I expected.”
“–……teeth?”
Harold’s thoughts, which had been running wild in his head, were interrupted by Millianna’s words. After pondering what she had said, Harold’s brow furrowed deeply. Anger towards his sister welled up in his chest.
– Did she really say something like that to Fiona? For her, who had come all the way from another country to serve Stalb, Millianna was probably the woman she trusted the most in the country.
“You… what have you done?”
“I know. I know I was wrong about that. I like and respect you, Sister-in-law. I know it’s wrong for me to criticize my brother’s marriage partner. I apologized right away, but… for a moment, you looked really hurt.”
Harold’s chest ached. Anger and frustration at finding out too late that she had been hurt without Harold’s presence burned in his chest. Seeing his sister speak so freely, he felt like scolding her more than ever before.
But he also understood that it was more like taking out his anger on her. It was Harold himself who hadn’t noticed her situation.
“But then my sister-in-law asked me, ‘What should I do?’ She said that up until now, she had only been thinking about herself as a princess and the crown princess, for the sake of her country. She wondered if it would be okay for her to become free.”
“…”
“I came from a neighboring country and married into a family, my husband is not by my side, and everyone around me and my husband’s sister are telling me that I’m not good enough for them. They asked me what a normal person would do in this situation… and I said that if I were them, I would go back to my country.”
Then my sister-in-law said, I see, maybe I should do that.
Harold went quiet after hearing Millianna’s words. Millianna replied, “That’s why I offered to take over all of your official duties.” Her eyes were lowered, and her guilt was clearly visible, in stark contrast to her previous expression.
“The reason you’re worried about your sister-in-law going back to her country is because it means you two won’t be the perfect couple? If that’s the case… I don’t want you to stop your sister-in-law. I don’t think she’ll be able to be perfect if she stays here. From what I’ve heard, it seems like your parents back in your country were worried about your lifestyle… I think she’ll be able to get more rest if you go back to Bucks rather than here.”
“…”
Harold’s head dropped at Millianna’s words. He was unable to respond to what she said.

Fiona, who had been staring blankly at the snowy scenery outside the window, slowly lowered her gaze to the handkerchief in her hand. The embroidery up to that point was evenly stitched and had no deviations from the composition. It was the coat of arms of the Starve royal family.
It was only after she returned to Bucks that Fiona realized that she actually liked embroidery. She had done this work many times since she was a child, as it was a natural hobby for a member of the royal family, but since she married into Stalb, she had never done it once. Of course, there is a culture of embroidery in Stalb, but she never had the time to slowly embroider by herself, and she never made it the theme of the tea parties she hosted. She couldn’t observe the ladies and ladies enough while doing something else.
Embroidery allows you to empty your mind. Fiona only realized now that she liked this task because it allowed her to empty her mind of all sorts of thoughts, and she smirked. She thought that she was a little too old to be aware of her own rigidity.
A month has passed since Fiona returned to Bucks after two years. When she left Stalb, Harold looked like he wanted to say something, but in the end he just smiled and said, “I hope you take it easy.” His expression when he said, “I’m sorry,” was quite broken, something Fiona had never seen before.
Fiona’s parents and brother were surprised when she suddenly returned to Japan, but they welcomed her warmly. Just as Harold had told her, she was told to “take it easy,” and she took his advice and spent her time relaxing without doing any particular work.
Three more months, Fiona thought absentmindedly. It didn’t really occur to her that this idle life would continue for much longer.
For Fiona, living as a princess was something she had been born with. She believed that it was her role to live and die for Bucks, and even after she married Stalb, that idea didn’t change. Harold was a reliable partner as the crown prince and as a husband, and she never felt the slightest bit of dissatisfaction with him.
Bucks was a small country compared to Stalb. She could easily imagine that some of the noble ladies in the country would not be happy if Fiona, the princess of a small country, married Harold, the handsome crown prince. Harold’s intention of not having children until the situation abroad had settled down was easy to understand. From Fiona’s perspective, she wanted to establish herself in Stalb and gain some social standing before having children, so she didn’t see any particular problem. She could easily predict the thoughts of those around her who would try to find fault with her, and she didn’t mind at all when people would say all sorts of things behind her back when Harold wasn’t around.
Yes, Fiona understood that the environment she found herself in and the gazes directed at her were inevitable, and she shouldn’t have felt the slightest bit of dissatisfaction. It was thanks to her sister-in-law Millianna that she was able to realize that, despite having accepted that, she was actually just tired.
“Sister-in-law, your expression is not good.”
That day, after Fiona had finished a tea party for the wives of high-ranking nobles, Millianna called out to her. For a moment, Fiona looked puzzled, but then she smiled softly at her sister-in-law.
“Thank you for your concern. I’m fine.”
“I didn’t participate in the tea party that was just now… I guess there were some rude people there again.”
Millianna frowned as she said this, as if it was her own anger. Fiona found her sister-in-law adorable, as she always spoke with such expressive expressions.
“It’s only a very small percentage of people. I understand that people may want to say something to me, and I take appropriate measures to stop anyone from being overly rude, so there’s no problem.”
While she understood that some of the feelings directed towards her were inevitable, Fiona didn’t think it was right to back down. She had married into the Starve royal family and become a member of it, so she couldn’t tolerate extremely rude remarks. Her completely right-minded nature must have rubbed some of the noblewomen the wrong way.
“Sister-in-law… even if your actions are correct, you still feel hurt. You can say more back, and all rude people should be banned, seriously!”
“Fufu, I’m glad you said that. Thank you.”
Fiona chuckled at Millianna’s words. Millianna, who had a sulky look on her face, pulled Fiona’s arm and said, “Let’s take a break together,” and pulled her to the balcony. Millianna sat Fiona down opposite her, took a sip of tea from the cup, and then said, “Alright.”
“Sister-in-law, you’re always so calm, so everyone gets all worked up over this. You want to make her even more upset… it really pisses me off, you’re no match for her in terms of looks, manners, or social skills.”
“So you’re praising me, thank you.”
“I’m praising you… but that’s not it!”
Millianna then started venting her anger at Fiona for not caring, her dissatisfaction with the noblewoman, and even her complaints about her brother and Fiona’s husband, Harold, who had been away from the castle for a long time on an expedition. Fiona listened to all of it with a smile.
To be honest, spending time with Millianna telling her this and that was a refreshing experience for Fiona. Harold often seemed to criticize her for being honest, but Fiona didn’t think Millianna’s way of thinking was bad. On the contrary, she even found her straightforwardness dazzling.
“Sister-in-law, you’re laughing again… I’m serious.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“I don’t understand, anymore…!”
Millianna puffed out her cheeks and glared at Fiona with eyes the same color as Harold’s. Fiona tilted her head and smiled, and Millianna let out a sigh.
“I wonder when your brother and sister-in-law will ever relax because of something like that.”
“There’s no need to worry, I’m really not bothered by it…”
“I’ll say the same thing as you did, big brother. You see, big sister-in-law, this environment and the words you’re being told aren’t all normal things. You don’t have to accept everything.”
Fiona gave a wry smile as she listened to Millianna speak so eloquently.
I could understand what she was saying, but I couldn’t empathize with her. No matter how many times Millianna told Fiona that she was “tired” and “hurt,” she had no self-awareness of it.
“…You two are a similar couple, sisters-in-law.”
As she said this, Millianna lowered her eyes in a somewhat sad expression. Seeing her reaction, Fiona called out her name, “Lady Millianna?”
“…Actually, I was kind of looking forward to it.”
“picture?”
When she heard the word “expected” in the past tense, Fiona’s heart somehow skipped a beat.
“When I heard that my brother was getting married… I was a little worried that she might be someone who could throw him off his pace in a good way, someone who would show him a side of himself that isn’t perfect. But my sister-in-law is a perfect person… so in the end my brother got even more carried away.”
”I’m sure that would have been better from your brother’s point of view,” Millianna said in a light tone, lifting her head from the ceiling. When she saw Fiona’s expression, she froze.
Fiona opened her black eyes wide and stopped breathing for a moment. Realizing this, Fiona felt awkward and tried to turn up the corners of her mouth to say “Yes,” but Millianna, who was facing her, did not return the smile.
Fiona thought that Millianna had realized that she had been shaken by her words. From Millianna’s perspective, those words had been spoken without any ill intent – that she was different to the wife she had hoped for – but for some reason, they struck Fiona deeply in the heart. Fiona, who had never been shaken by direct, malicious words, was now unable to hide her agitation.
“Oh, sister-in-law, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it in a bad way.”
Fiona vaguely heard Millianna say this with a trembling voice, exuding impatience.
Fiona wonders to herself why her words hurt her so much.
Perhaps it was because the words were spoken by Millianna, someone he trusted. … Or rather, perhaps it was because he had suddenly realized that even though he had always been righteous, there was still something more expected of him.
Born into royalty, raised as a princess, married into a foreign country, and thought she was doing her best in a culture and environment she didn’t know. But still, there are people who try to find fault with Fiona, her husband Harold isn’t around, and Millianna criticizes her for being perfect.
Someone who would show Harold his imperfections. Fiona realized that she was not at all like that kind of wife. Harold had always been perfect in front of Fiona.
Fiona can’t be his rock. She can only be a partner in a superficial sense. That truth was suddenly thrust upon him.
But having always striven to be perfect, she had no idea what to do.
“… Sister-in-law.”
“It’s okay. But… well, what should I do?”
“picture?”
“Undoubtedly, up until now, I have only been thinking about how to behave as a princess and crown princess for the sake of my country. Perhaps it would be good to have some freedom.”
The last word was so quiet that Millianna could barely hear it. Fiona smiled softly and turned her gaze to Millianna, who looked even more like she was about to burst into tears.
“She came from a neighboring country to marry alone, her husband is not by her side, everyone around her tells her she is no good, and even her husband’s sister tells her she is not what they expected… what would a normal person do?”
When Fiona asked, tears finally spilled from Millianna’s eyes. “I’m not blaming you, I was mean, I’m sorry,” Fiona said hastily, standing up and wiping Millianna’s tears with a handkerchief. “I’m sorry,” Millianna apologized again, sniffling and lowering her eyes.
“I… if I were you, I would go back to my country. If you said something so horrible to me.”
“Milianna-sama, I don’t think it’s a bad thing.”
“Even if you don’t see it that way, it’s terrible, and even if you’re not aware of it, it may hurt you. I’m truly sorry… If you return to your country, I will be responsible for your social interactions as a member of the royal family during that time.”
Hearing that, Fiona lowered her eyes and thought for a while. And then, “In that case, may I ask you?” she asked, as she made a decision.
As she had told Millianna, Fiona did not feel angry towards her sister-in-law. Rather, she even felt grateful to her for making her aware of her own feelings. Fiona finally realized that the things she had always accepted as normal had been much harder to bear than she had imagined.
“You’re so insensitive.”
Fiona couldn’t help but smile. She considered herself to be quite perceptive, but that didn’t apply to her own feelings. I think it was good that she realized it before her heart reached its limits without even realizing it.
”I wonder what I should do now,” Fiona muttered to herself, and looked down at the handkerchief she held in her hand, embroidered with the crest of her husband’s family.
The reason she told Harold she would be returning to Bucks for four months wasn’t just to coincide with the duration of his expedition. Bucks, located north of Stalve, will be hit by a cold wave in the coming months. Heavy snowfall will make it physically difficult to travel between the two countries. The snow that began to fall when Fiona left Stalve and approached Bucks has now piled up on the ground, turning the whole area into a snowy landscape. This snow will continue to fall for the next two months, blocking travelers’ vision and making them unsteady on their feet.
And so, when that time passed and the day came when it was time to return to Starve, Fiona wondered what she should do.
When they first got married, Harold didn’t seem to expect much from Fiona. Or rather, perhaps it would be more accurate to say from the princess of Bucks who was to marry him. Fiona sensed that he had welcomed her as his wife without much expectation.
However, seeing Fiona behave perfectly as a princess in Bucks, and how she lived as the crown princess in Stalb, he seemed to feel at ease, and gradually began to entrust her with social duties.
Fiona respected Harold. He was the perfect prince, and someone she could learn from. She was happy to be recognized as his wife, and it made her want to work harder.
But now Fiona has given up everything and returned to the country alone. Harold has finally returned to Bucks after a long expedition, and now it is time for her to support him and work together with him on domestic affairs.
–I’m no longer the perfect Crown Princess that Lord Harold wanted. I wonder if he will still need me now that I’m no longer perfect.
Thinking this to herself, Fiona’s eyelashes trembled as she unconsciously clutched the throbbing pain in her chest.
The thought that Harold might be disillusioned with her made her heart ache with sadness, and she already realized that this was not simply because she admired him.
Fiona’s respect for Harold had at some point changed into affection for the opposite sex. She had a vague inkling of this from the upset she felt when she realized during her conversation with Millianna that she had not been able to become a wife who could truly support Harold. She became clearly aware of this when he gently declined her request to spend the night with him on the day he returned from his expedition. Fiona was more shocked than she had expected when he said, “Let’s not do it today,” and she realized the name of the feelings she had for Harold.
Although she had been a perfect partner whom she respected, her feelings for Harold began to mix in, and Fiona was no longer perfect.
–I wondered if it was okay for me to continue standing beside him like that. Lady Millianna had said that she expected me to be a wife who could disrupt Lord Harold’s pace, but right now I’m nothing more than a selfish woman who causes him trouble.
Fiona shook her head several times in a panic, wondering what kind of face she should make when she met him again. She had been engrossed in embroidery lately so she wouldn’t have to think about such things. She wouldn’t be able to return to Stalb in this snow anyway. There was no point in thinking about such things now.
With that thought in mind, Fiona lowered her gaze back to the embroidery, and just as she tightened her grip on the needle, she heard a knock on the door.
“……? yes”
“Fiona, can I just say something?”
The person who opened the door was her mother. Fiona blinked, tilted her head and said, “Mother?”
“What’s the matter? It’s a little early for dinner.”
“You have a visitor.”
“A customer? On a day like this?”
Fiona frowned slightly at her mother’s words. In Bucks, there was almost no socializing during the snowy season. Since she had already met the Bucks nobles she had been in contact with since her return, Fiona had no idea who would come to see her at this time.
“Who is it?”
When Fiona asked, her mother looked a little uneasy and her eyes wandered.
“…Umm, Lord Harold.”
“…Huh?”
Upon hearing those words, Fiona’s black eyes widened in shock.
Fiona shook her head at her mother’s words, “If you don’t want to see him, tell him so,” and headed to the drawing room. Confusion and agitation spread inside her at Harold’s sudden, unannounced visit.
What had happened to the crown prince of a country, without any contact? There must have been a very good reason for him to leave his own country and come here in this snow. Had something happened back home, or… had he come to say goodbye?
Thinking like that, Fiona couldn’t stay calm. Still, not meeting him was not an option for her, so she timidly put her hand on the door to the living room where Harold was waiting.
“…Fiona.”
“Harold…”
Harold turned around at the sound of the door opening, and upon seeing Fiona, he put down the towel he was holding and hurriedly stood up from the sofa. His hair was wet and his nose was red. He looked like he had just arrived at the castle in the snow and cold, and had barely had time to warm himself up before arriving in the living room.
“Harold-sama, please dry yourself off first, you’ll catch a cold.”
Fiona hurriedly urged Harold to dry himself off, then followed him to sit across from him on the sofa. After making sure that hot tea was served in front of him, she used her eyes to tell the chamberlain to put more wood in the fireplace.
“Thank you, Fiona. I’d heard about it, but winters in Bucks are harsh. It was really cold on the way there.”
“Yes, we’re already experiencing a full-blown cold wave… Lord Harold, why did you come all the way to Bucks at a time like this? Did something happen in Stalb?”
When Fiona said that and tilted her head, Harold gave a wry smile and said vaguely, “Ah…” Fiona thought that this was unlike him, who was always so forthright, and then an unpleasant thought passed through her mind.
Something that even he would find difficult to say. Something that he would go to the trouble of leaving the country to tell her. Could it be something like divorce, something like what she briefly considered earlier?
“Harold-sama.”
“Ah, yeah… That’s right, wait a minute.”
Saying this, Harold dried his hair with the towel he was holding, folded it carefully, and placed it on the table. Then he looked straight at Fiona and bowed his head deeply towards her.
“Ahh? Lord Harold?”
“Fiona, I’m sorry for everything.”
“What’s this all of a sudden — please look up.”
Fiona said in a hurry as she stood up from the sofa, and Harold slowly raised his head.
Her blue eyes wavered as she stared back at Fiona, but she shook her head without understanding why.
“Harold-sama, what’s wrong? Coming all of a sudden to a place like this, and even bowing your head… it’s not like you.”
Hearing Fiona say that, Harold suddenly laughed at himself. He lowered his eyes and said to Fiona, “Please sit down.”
Seeing Fiona lowering her hips timidly, Harold slowly opened his mouth.
“Unlike me, I agree. That’s not like me at all.”
Harold’s expression as he answered was somewhat troubled. Fiona gasped at the expression on his face, something she had never seen before. He had been upset when Fiona had told him she wanted to go back to Bucks, but it had never been this obvious.
“I came to see you. To apologize. I left my official duties aside. I knew that if I came to Bucks at this time of year, I wouldn’t know when I’d be able to return home from this snowbound country.”
“Why are you apologizing like that… What are you apologizing for?”
Fiona couldn’t understand what he was saying. This trip home was the result of Fiona’s selfishness, and from her point of view there was nothing wrong with Harold. She couldn’t understand at all why he had come here, even setting aside his official duties, just as he had said he had.
“I treated you as a wife of convenience.”
“Is that convenient? Is that so…?”
As if to cut Fiona off, Harold shook his head. He narrowed his eyes sadly and muttered softly, “You may not be aware of it, but…”
“I wasn’t aware of it either. You were truly the perfect wife, and I assumed that our relationship as a married couple was flawless. I only saw you as someone who was playing the role of the perfect wife.”
Fiona was speechless at Harold’s words. The words “perfect wife” he said weighed heavily on her heart. Indeed, Fiona had played the role of a wife up until now, just as he said. But now, she had abandoned that role.
“I didn’t think about you personally at all. As a person who came from another country to marry, I was satisfied that you thought it was inevitable that you would be criticized, that you handled the situation well, and that you responded rationally… I neglected to think about how your emotions would change in that environment.”
“But that’s… I’m not the only one who has been under that kind of pressure. It’s the same for you, Harold-sama, isn’t it? You’ve been under that same pressure for a long time…”
“No, it made things easier for me since you married me. You were truly excellent, and I could trust you. But it’s different for you. You’re in a new environment, alone, with no one to rely on. You were living so naturally, that I even forgot about such a simple thing.”
Harold looked down as if embarrassed. Fiona was surprised to see him like that. It was a behavior she had never seen before from someone who always seemed confident in his words and actions.
“After you returned to Bucks…rumors started circulating that we might be getting divorced.”
Fiona’s shoulders shook when she heard Harold say that. She had wondered if he would be the one to bring up the topic of divorce.
“I’m sorry, my actions have caused chaos within the castle…”
“No, it’s fine… The maids said that it couldn’t be helped. Millianna, too.”
“picture?”
“Because you treated them so calmly, I had gotten used to it, but the way the people around you treated you was sometimes unbearable.”
At first, Harold frequently received reports about the behavior of those around her. Sometimes he would protect her, and sometimes he would intervene if she went too far. However, Fiona herself saw it as something that couldn’t be helped and didn’t worry about it, and because she handled it well, before long everyone around her, including Harold, had become insensitive to it. Including Fiona herself, who was exposed to that environment.
“So it can’t be helped, they said… but I couldn’t accept that, so I left Stalb… and ended up here.”
“…is that because…if we get divorced, we won’t be perfect anymore?”
“–That’s not true!”
Harold immediately looked up at Fiona’s words and denied it.
“That’s not it. It’s just that I… didn’t want to lose you. I’ve only just realised that being next to you feels good, that you’re an irreplaceable person.”
After saying that, Harold lowered his eyes and muttered in a small voice, “Sorry, it’s probably too late now,” while mocking himself.
“It’s too late to realize this after you’ve left, and I know that what I just said was just a convenient thing to say. Coming to Bucks was more than half impulsive. If I let this opportunity slip away, the snow would deepen and I wouldn’t be able to come and see you, so I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing. I had no confidence that you would come back after the winter was over…But even after coming all this time, now that I’m in front of you, I can’t find a single clever thing to say. People say I’m the perfect crown prince and all, but that’s not true at all, I just can’t think of anything.”
“…”
Fiona just stares blankly at Harold’s expression. His words and actions were not like the person she knew at all. Was that how anxious he was, how much he wanted to be with Fiona?
Fiona’s heart was pounding loudly. She bit her lip tightly and clutched her chest tightly to calm her beating heart, then she slowly opened her mouth.
“Harold-sama.”
Harold looked up timidly when he heard his name being called. Fiona felt resistance and confusion at the idea of revealing her inner thoughts in front of him. She had thought that Harold only expected her to be perfect.
However, Fiona was able to find courage because he, who she thought was much more perfect than her, told her what he thought…and the things that made him imperfect.
“I never really thought of my role as the Crown Princess as a pain. Just like you, I had lived my life thinking that that environment was normal… But when I thought that that way of life might not have been good for you, Lord Harold, I was shocked for the first time. I thought that I really didn’t know anything about your private life… and I felt pathetic.”
”That day, too, I tried to get you to spoil me when you were tired,” Fiona muttered. Harold tilted his head and asked, “That day?”, before suddenly looking taken aback. He seemed to realise that the “that day” Fiona was talking about was the day Harold returned from his expedition, when he had rejected her advances.
“That day… No, I had just returned from the expedition and was in a bad mood, so I thought I wouldn’t be able to hold you gently, so I stopped. The truth is… I wanted to hold you.”
“Is that so?”
Fiona blinked in confusion at Harold’s panicked words. Seeing him nod repeatedly, she smiled faintly.
“After all… I still don’t know much about you. I can’t even imagine you being unkind.”
“You’re overestimating me. I’m not such a perfect person… Like now, I’m neglecting you, the person I should cherish the most.”
“That’s not true. I was shocked and wanted to run away from everything, so I acted like this impulsively, but… I have always respected you, Harold, and have relied on you very much since I got married. It was because you were my husband that I was able to spend two years in Stalb.”
「Is that true? Right now, I’ve only just realized that I wasn’t treating you well enough, so I’m the kind of man who left my country behind and came all the way here without any plans. That’s me…」
Seeing Harold trying to avoid saying anything, Fiona shook her head.
The words he spoke echoed the same thoughts Fiona had been thinking: the fear that she and Harold shared, wondering if people would accept her for who she is, even though she’s not perfect.
“I’m not the perfect Crown Princess you desire. I left the country at a crucial time for personal reasons. I wonder if you’ve become disillusioned with me.”
“Of course not. It was all my fault in the first place. Even if it wasn’t, it wasn’t just your perfection that attracted me.”
“picture?”
Fiona opened her black eyes wide and stared intently at Harold. Her reaction seemed to indicate that she had not fully understood what he had just said, and Harold grimaced guilty before looking straight back at her.
“Fiona, I like you. I adore you. Not just in the sense of being a husband and wife, or a partner, but… as a woman.”
“…”
Fiona had a dazed look on her face, and her lips trembled slightly. Her mouth slowly opened, and a faint, tiny voice replied, “Me too.”
“I love you too, Harold. I’m so happy that you left your country behind to come to me.”
When Fiona answered, Harold stood up with a look of joy on his face, walked over to Fiona and embraced her. Fiona noticed that Harold’s hands, which were around her back, were trembling slightly.
“Ahh… That’s good.”
“Harold…”
“I was worried about what I would do if I was abandoned like this, and if you never returned. I didn’t feel like I could wait four months, and there was no guarantee that you would return even after that. So when I realized that… I bowed to His Majesty, and made the arrangements to bring me here.”
Harold’s embrace grew stronger. Not to be outdone, Fiona tightened her arms around his back. They had embraced each other many times before, as a performance or for skinship, but this was the first time for either of them to embrace each other with such earnest feelings.
“The country must be in uproar right now. The Crown Princess returned home and people were worried about getting a divorce, and then the Crown Prince followed her out of the country in the snow.”
“…Fufu, it seems like it’s a lie that you’ve been praising us as the perfect couple up until now.”
“I’ll have to apologize to everyone when I get back… However, the land route is already closed, so that will be about two months from now.”
As Harold said this, he had a refreshing smile on his face, which made Fiona giggle as well.
Fiona’s parents, the King and Queen of Bucks, welcomed Harold’s sudden visit. Seeing Fiona’s somewhat relieved expression, they smiled and said, “That’s good,” and told their son-in-law, “Take it easy.”
“Fiona was brought up perfectly as a daughter, but that was also why I was worried. She was a child who never shared her weaknesses or her innermost thoughts… I couldn’t be more relieved if you, Lord Harold, were supporting my daughter.”
His parents-in-law must have realized that there had been some kind of turmoil between the two of them, but at the dinner table they simply said that with a happy smile and Harold bowed deeply to them.
Just as Harold was taking a breath after dinner and a bath, there was a knock on the room he was assigned to. When he called out, the door opened slowly and unobtrusively, and his wife, Fiona, peeked in.
“Fiona?”
“Harold-sama… well, I brought some alcohol.”
Fiona said this with a somewhat embarrassed look on her face as she raised the wine bottle she was holding. “You came all the way here?” Harold asked, and Fiona nodded.
“Just like that… we should spend time together.”
Harold’s face turned red at Fiona’s obvious words of invitation. He simply replied, “I see,” and stood up, putting his arm around Fiona’s waist and sitting next to her on the sofa.
Harold took a sip of the wine that Fiona had poured. He thought it was delicious, but instead of savoring the taste of the wine, he was more conscious of Fiona beside him.
After all, we had been apart for four months, and just when I thought she had returned, we were separated again, and now it was another month, and she was finally my wife, and I had finally realized that I loved her. There was no way I wasn’t aware of it.
“Fiona”
When he called her name, Fiona looked up at Harold. Her dark, beautiful eyes were moist, and her pale cheeks were slightly flushed. Her reaction was not simply due to the alcohol she had consumed.
Her expression stirred up Harold’s lust, but out of his usual habit he tried to hold it in. He thought that if he gave in to this impulse and reached out to her, he wouldn’t be able to be gentle with her.
But before he could, Fiona put her arms around his neck and leaned in to kiss Harold.
Harold opened his eyes wide and saw Fiona’s face, her eyes tightly shut. When they touched, Fiona’s lips were hotter than Harold’s. Fiona pulled away, her face bright red, and with the same moist eyes, she called out to him, “Harold-sama.”
“Don’t hide anything… show it to me.”
She said that in a pleading, soft voice, and there was no way Harold could resist. He hastily pulled Fiona’s face closer to his, and pressed his lips together deeply.
Gazing intently at Fiona’s expression as she closed her eyes in ecstasy, Harold devoured her lips. He savored every last bit of her hot, sweet, soft mouth. He wanted to even swallow her breath that escaped in between kisses.
“Hmm, hmm…”
As their lips met several times, Harold put his hands on Fiona’s nightgown. He pulled it up and ran his hands over her white skin, causing her body to tremble.
I rubbed the pad of my thumb back and forth over the navel of her belly button several times. Her body twitched and trembled, as if she was feeling the tickle. Her eyebrows were tightly pressed together as if she couldn’t bear it, which was adorable. I slid my hand up and touched the two soft bulges. The tips were already swollen.
“Fiona…”
“Ah.”
He called her name and pinched her firmly. Fiona’s eyes widened and a sweet moan escaped her lips. Wanting to hear more of that voice, Harold stimulated the top of her breast even more. He traced the circumference softly, then suddenly pinched her nipple and scratched the tip with his fingernails. Fiona was at the mercy of his caresses and her body trembled.
Harold took Fiona’s hand, which she had placed over her mouth as if to hide the sound of her voice, and sewed it into the sheets. Fiona’s cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
“Harold-sama, I hear your voice.”
“You don’t have to hide it.”
“But… it’s indecent.”
Fiona said this and lowered her eyebrows in a troubled manner, and Harold couldn’t help but smile.
Thinking back, they had only ever had sexual intercourse that was – I don’t know if that’s the right word to describe it – refined. Harold had always chosen times when he could remain rational, and Fiona seemed to have enjoyed it, but she had always held back her voice, just like she was now. They only did it once, and then fell asleep…it certainly felt good, but even that may have been an obligation for them as a married couple.
But Harold no longer sees this act in that way.
“It’s not vulgar. Your voice is – honestly, it’s arousing.”
“Eh…Ah!”
Fiona must have been surprised by these words because she looked up at Harold with her mouth open. He took the opportunity to caress her breasts again, drawing out her sweet moans.
“Y-Harold-sama… no…”
“There’s no need to be so intimidated. I… want to see you in a state of disarray.”
After whispering in her ear, Harold removed her nightgown and ran his tongue down her neck. He then moved down her collarbone and took the tip of her breast into his mouth. He gently bit into her with his teeth and rubbed his tongue around the tip, causing Fiona’s body to twitch.
Fiona’s face was bright red, her black eyes were moist with sadness, and she was breathing heavily as she was feeling the sensation. Harold unconsciously swallowed his saliva. He was astonished at his own foolishness for having overlooked his wife’s expressions and reactions that were so arousing for two years. At the same time, he touched her body gently, trying to burn her reactions into his memory so that he would not miss any more of them.
He slid his fingers along the inside of her thighs, approaching her center. The spot where his fingertips touched was already wet, and Harold couldn’t help but laugh.
“Ah, ah.”
I purposely made a splashing sound as I touched her crotch. Fiona’s face went red with shame and pleasure. When I placed my finger on the clitoris just above the nectar opening, her shoulders shook violently.
“Harold-sama, that’s…”
Fiona muttered this in a somewhat pleading tone, looking up at Harold with moist eyes. Ever since he noticed that Fiona was confused by the intensity of the pleasure she got from her clitoris the other day during their sexual intercourse, Harold had intentionally avoided touching her there too much. But right now, Harold wanted to see all of her confusion and her aroused expression.
“There’s nothing wrong with feeling things, Fiona.”
“But…”
As Fiona said this, her eyes were moist, her cheeks were flushed, and her breathing seemed to become irregular. Harold sensed confusion and then a flicker of expectation in her eyes, and he no longer had any reason to suppress his own desires.
“Ah, stop…that’s not good, Harold!”
Harold let the nectar coat his fingers and gently stroked the bud of her flower. As he touched it, the elasticity of the bud increased, and he pressed the pad of his finger against it, shaking it gently. Fiona arched her throat and let out a particularly sweet cry.
Harold realized belatedly that the breath he had unconsciously exhaled was hot. Just touching Fiona excited Harold like he had never been before. Without even touching her, Harold’s core was already hot and throbbing, pushing up her underwear. Driven by the urge to immediately push his fingers into the honey hole he was touching, Harold suppressed it and buried his fingers inside Fiona.
The hot, wet place gripped Harold’s fingers tightly. He moved his fingers inside while teasing the clitoris, widening the passage. He occasionally pushed up and rubbed a point on the ventral side, and Fiona’s legs stretched out. She could no longer form meaningful words, and with tears spilling from the corners of her eyes, she simply moaned sweetly and shook her head. Fiona’s hands reached out to Harold, and she grabbed his arms tightly as if to cling to him.
Fiona had always been a perfect, chaste wife, but now that she was only in front of him, Harold’s excitement was fuelled even more. He was the only one who knew the indecent state of his beloved wife in his hands. The thought that he was the only one who could make her feel this way filled Harold’s possessiveness.
“Oh, no, Harold-sama, I… I can’t…”
Fiona’s sweet voice contained a hint of embarrassment and confusion. Fiona had probably never been this aroused before, and she seemed shaken by how much she was feeling. Harold regretted that they hadn’t been able to touch each other this deeply in the two years they had been together, but he also understood that the excitement they were feeling right now was probably due to their mutual feelings.
“Fiona, I love you.”
When he whispered that in her ear, Fiona’s body shook especially violently, and she squeezed tightly around Harold’s fingers that were buried inside her. As she contracted, Harold opened his eyes wide and looked at Fiona. Her face was bright red and her lips were trembling.
“Did those words just now get you there?”
“B-but, Lord Harold…!”
Fiona glared at Harold while trembling, and Harold couldn’t help but smile and kiss her. Looking at her, who opened her eyes wide in surprise at the sudden kiss, Harold quickly relaxed his own legs, placed his hands on Fiona’s thighs, spread them wide, and buried himself inside her in one breath.
All of Fiona’s moans were swallowed up by Harold’s mouth. Harold thought to himself that he had missed something, but he thought that she would be moaning like crazy by now, so he pulled out his tongue that had been playing with the inside of her mouth.
“Wait, ah, I’m not there yet!”
Fiona was out of breath and was trying to find words to stop Harold. He had penetrated her before the afterglow of her previous orgasm had even subsided, so her reaction was only natural.
If it had been the Harold of the past, he would have listened to her protests. In fact, he would never have penetrated her without her permission in the first place. That was the only sexual act they had ever had.
But right now, Harold wanted to see Fiona become aroused by the pleasure he was giving her, so he had no intention of listening to her pleas to stop him.
“No, Harold-sama… Ugh, ah, ahh…”
“Fiona, I love you… I love you.”
Harold whispered many times how much he loved his wife as he pushed himself inside of Fiona. He pulled his hips to the entrance and thrust himself all the way in one go. As he continued to rub against the back of her vagina, Fiona’s insides squeezed Harold tightly in pleasure.
“Ah, no, no…!”
“Doesn’t it feel good…?”
“It feels good, but…”
It was impossible to stay calm when she told me with a bright red face that it was too good for me. Harold gritted his molars tightly and hugged Fiona tightly. He thrust his penis into her hips, making her moan even more sweetly.
“ah–“
Fiona let out a voiceless cry and came again, and at the same time her insides started to move with even more force. Harold held back from being taken away and waited until Fiona’s breathing steadied. Then he pulled himself out of her.
“Ah, huh…?”
Seeing Fiona looking up at Harold with a somewhat lonely look on her face, Harold suddenly smiled and without a word turned her around.
“Eh, what?! Harold-sama…?!”
Fiona looked back at Harold with a shocked expression. When Harold grabbed her buttocks and pulled her up, Fiona, who seemed to feel embarrassed about her position on all fours with her buttocks sticking out, turned bright red.
“Dressed like this… Ah!?”
Without finishing what Fiona had said, Harold thrust deeply into her again. Hearing her voice, laced with confusion, become saturated with pleasure, Harold gripped her thin white waist tighter. With the change in position, it seemed that a different part of her body was being stimulated, and Fiona shook her head and moaned sweetly.
For the past two years, Harold had only had sex with her face to face. Fiona must have thought that sexual intercourse was something you do face to face. Doing it from behind would make it seem like animal mating. But Harold was extremely excited by this position, his hips pounding into her as he watched the outline of her beautiful body. After thinking about wanting to cover her as she collapsed in pleasure and clung helplessly to the sheets, he thought to himself that this really did seem like animal behavior.
“Fiona, Fiona…!”
“Harold-sama.”
When Harold called her name, Fiona turned her face towards him from her collapsed position and looked up at him with tearful eyes. Harold ended up lying on top of her and sealing her lips while pounding his hips into her.
He was nearing his limit. Harold went back and forth inside Fiona, who was squeezing him tightly, repeatedly, listening to her sweet voice in between kisses, and burning into his mind the face of pleasure. As they stared at each other, he pushed in with all his might – and released his desire deep inside her.
“Ah…”
At the same time, Fiona also climaxed. Harold gently rocked his hips back and forth, trying not to spill even the last drop inside her, who was trembling sweetly, while he lightly kissed her again and again. Fiona, who was crying tears of joy as she responded to Harold’s kisses, was so pitiful that Harold held her tightly.
“Harold…”
“I love you, Fiona.”
“I love you too, Harold.”
Fiona smiled softly as she responded to Harold’s repeated words of love. Fiona’s cheeks were flushed from the afterglow of her orgasm, exciting Harold, who had just unleashed his desire.
“…It’s different from before, are you confused?”
“……yes”
Fiona nodded while looking down in embarrassment. Harold relaxed his eyes, pulled himself out of Fiona, and lay down next to her.
“I’m sorry, I love you so much… I wanted to try a few things.”
Fiona blushed as she shook her head at Harold, who was lying next to her, and her black eyes were filled with love. The same could be said for Harold’s blue eyes, which were also looking at Fiona.
“Well… it was really good. It was my first time, so I was surprised, but…”
Fiona blushed as she spoke, and Harold’s eyes widened. When he fell silent, Fiona hurriedly got up and asked, “Was that indecent?”, her eyes wandering.
“…No way.”
Harold muttered, and as he sat up, Fiona jumped onto him again. Now pinned down, she looked up at Harold with a puzzled expression.
…She doesn’t look as if she’s even thinking about doing it again. I have to teach Fiona that there’s more to it than just one position, one caress, and one number of times.
“Mr. Harold?”
Harold smiled at his wife who called his name curiously, and Fiona finally seemed to realize that things were going awry. “Huh?” and “It’ll be over once,” she muttered in a panic. However, Harold noticed that there was a faint hint of hope in her shaking eyes.
“Up until now, I’ve only been doing one-sided things. Starting today, I’m going to try different things.”
“Eh — ah — ah.”
Fiona’s sweet voice was once again swallowed up by Harold’s mouth.
