Extra – A man and a woman having fun
Be engaged to Kyrice Beuzen, live with him, become hated, and force him to marry you.
A few days after the mission ended, there was no major change in Mitina’s daily life.
She continues to serve the Black Iron Knights as usual, assisting Zeffen with his disastrous political skills, and then returns to the mansion where the man who will one day become her husband is waiting for her, cooking delicious meals.
She was filled with contentment every day with the realization that she had finally come to understand happiness.
However, that doesn’t mean there were no changes to my life at all.
One day, while working on maintaining her bayonet during a break from work, Mitina, who was working alone in the maintenance room attached to the training ground, looked up when she heard the door opening.
There he was, standing there.
“Kyelse.”
“Maintaining weapons in a place that smells like iron?”
Having come all the way to the Black Iron Knights’ training grounds, Kyelse was complaining just like always.
By the way, Kyelse had been determined to win the duel against Zeffen and become the captain of the Black Iron Knights, but naturally King Regula did not grant her permission to duel, so she remained as a Silver Knight.
“If you don’t like it, you don’t have to come in.”
“…………”
Mitina immediately replied, and Kyelse frowned and glared at her.
Recently, Mitina had come to understand that the look on his face was an expression of his dissatisfaction that she was not noticing his appeal.
So, it seems he came to see Mitina.
“What happened to your job?”
“I’ve finished it. Saren is probably looking for a new job right now to keep me in my office.”
“That’s very much…”
Saren was Kyelse’s assistant, the assistant captain of the Silver Knights. However, Kyelse was an all-round superhuman, so there was no way she could be assisted, and it seemed Saren was basically given other work outside of the office.
Hearing Kyelse speak without any remorse towards her subordinate, Mitina gave a bitter smile. “The same as always,” she thought.
(I thought Kyelse was a serious person, but surprisingly… well, this also means that she prioritizes me over her work, I guess.)
While I was thinking about this, Kyelse silently sat down right next to Mitina. Then, seeing the bayonet in her hand, he said bluntly,
“Show me.”
“Eh, Kyelse-dono, can you do the maintenance?”
“I’m not asking you to show me if you can’t do it.”
Thinking that was the case, Mitina obediently handed him her favorite weapon. He handled it skillfully and checked the device. It was an impressive feat.
“You’ve never handled a bayonet, especially a magical one. Where did you learn it?”
“…I studied.”
“Uh, studying.”
Why would she bother to say something like that? Mitina could tell from her gaze that this was what she was thinking. Blushing, Kyelse spoke with a dissatisfied look.
“Oh, you’re using a bayonet, so you must have studied it!”
“Is that so?”
“That’s right! It’s an important weapon to protect your life, so there can’t be any flaws in it.”
In short, he seemed to be worried about Mitina. He may have come all the way to this place to help her with the maintenance.
Mitina smiled softly, happy that Kyelse still tried to take good care of her.
“Thank you very much, Kyelse.”
“…Right now, it’s just the two of us.”
“No you can’t. This is the training grounds for the Black Iron Knights, and flirting in the workplace is prohibited.”
“Ugh… a little would be okay!”
“No. You’re a good kid, so please behave yourself.”
When I tried to calm the sulking Kyelse, he raised his eyebrows in anger at being treated like a child. However, he suddenly remembered something, put his bayonet on the table and approached her.
“Hey.”
“If you’re a good boy… you’ll pay me back later.”
”Later,” he probably meant when they got back to the mansion. Kyelse was begging in a roundabout way, and Mitina blushed while looking troubled.
“…Sure.”
“Then I’ll hold back!”
“Yes, yes, thank you.”
Seeing Kyelse, who had suddenly changed her mood and was now in a good mood, preparing her bayonet, made her smile happily.
Although I thought it was strange to prioritize personal feelings during work, I still found myself cherishing him so much, knowing that he was always expressing his kindness to me no matter where we were.
“I guess I’ll try making a magical tool too…”
“Can you do that?”
「Nothing is impossible for me. Well, let’s try adding a burning effect to the magic bullets… to make them powerful enough to instantly reduce anything they hit to dust.」
“I’m afraid of shooting by mistake, so I’ll refrain.”
Thinking about it, even before he accepted Kyelse’s marriage proposal, Mitina had often met him within the royal castle. Now he could understand that she had come to see him, but recently the frequency had increased.
On another day, during Vita’s training.
“Take up your sword, problem child. I, the greatest knight, will teach you.”
“Mitina! Help me!”
Just as they were about to begin training, Kyelse suddenly appeared and snatched the training sword from Mitina’s hand, and stood in front of Vite as if it was the most natural thing to do.
“Kyelse, please do not disturb me while I am working.”
“I refuse! I can’t just leave training with a problem child who causes nothing but trouble, it’s too dangerous!”
“I’m glad you’re worried about me though…”
Mitina tried to persuade Kyelse that she was sticking her nose in too far, but he stopped her before she could do so, and loudly proclaimed:
“Mitina”
“Y-Yes.”
“Naturally, my sword skills are superior to yours. So for this problem child, being taught by me, a sword genius, would be a rare experience. Am I right?”
“…Well, I suppose so.”
“Please don’t accept this, Mitina-san…!”
Seeing Mitina seeming convinced, Kyelse burst out with a happy smile. Then she puffed out her chest in pride.
“I’ll train you later. I won’t hurt you like I did Zeffen. From now on, you can rely on me as your husband more during your combat training.”
“I’m not married yet though.”
While making that remark as usual, he continued to train Vite, and somehow afterwards, Mitina ended up being taught swordsmanship by Kyelse.
On another day, Mitina was being lazy and carrying a large amount of documents.
“Stop, Mitina.”
“yes?”
She stopped and looked up, and spotted a patch of familiar platinum hair on top of the documents. She immediately realized who had called out to her, and at the same time, her vision cleared.
More than half of the documents that were filling her arms were now in Kyelse’s arms.
“Ah, Kyelse-dono, it’s fine. Carrying documents is not a job for a commander.”
“I have free time. Even though I’m the captain, there’s no problem with me carrying the documents.”
“That may be true, but… these are all Kurogane documents, right?”
It would be unbearable to have him, the captain of the Silver Knights, carry something like that. Even so, there was no way Kyelse would accept it so easily.
“I don’t care. Even if it’s something outside of my jurisdiction, there’s no way I can just ignore something that’s bothering my precious wife. Besides, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do Zeffen a favor.”
“I don’t think there’s much to be grateful for just delivering some documents…”
“N-no! It’s just a side thing, I came to help you!”
Saying that, Kyelse snorted and turned away, but then quickly glanced back at Mitina. It was as if she was trying to tell her that this was also an expression of affection.
“I see, thank you.”
“There’s just no emotion in it!”
“Of course I’m grateful. However…”
Of course, Kyelse was grateful to Mitina for taking care of her diligently, even when she was at work. But when she realized that they were meeting in so many different places, Mitina had some doubts.
“Kyelse, did you really come all the way here looking for me after you finished your work?”
“Huh?! That’s not the case…”
His face turned red and he immediately tried to deny it, but then he shut up. After a moment, he muttered an answer.
“So, what will I do? I just, well… I want to be with you for a little while…”
“is that so”
「But, I’m definitely not following you around! Whenever I see you, I just can’t help but follow you with my eyes, so I pretty much know what you’re doing… Don’t think it’s weird or anything, it’s just a coincidence…!」
As Kyelse desperately tried to explain herself, Mitina smiled. She felt like she was watching a duckling desperately following its mother.
“I understand. Could you please take me to my office then?”
“Ah, ah! Leave it to me!”
Kyelse was wearing a bright, happy smile and seemed in a good mood as she carried the documents with me. What an adorable future husband she was.
The date of the wedding had still not been decided, and it had not yet been made public that Kyelse and Mitina would one day be married. That was why the sight of the two of them getting along so well continued to surprise those around them.
That being said, aside from Kyelse, who didn’t hide it and instead wanted to show it off, Mitina also didn’t think there was any need to hide her relationship with Kyelse. It was decided that they would get married someday, and no matter what the people around them said, that wasn’t going to change anything, that’s what she thought.
And when I told Istaria, who was visiting the royal castle on her own, including updating her on her recent situation, she said.
“I never thought that even Mitina would be excited…”
“Are you floating?”
“You’re just accepting Kyelse as a teenager who’s overjoyed at getting her first girlfriend. Right?”
Istaria’s harsh yet extremely accurate expression made Mitina burst out laughing.
As you pointed out, Kyelse was currently overjoyed at being united with her beloved Mitina.
And Mitina was just watching Kyelse with a sense of happiness, and didn’t scold her harshly. In other words, she was also in high spirits.
Even though Istaria had pointed that out to her, Mitina didn’t seem particularly worried. They weren’t in close contact with each other at work, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
But, another day.
“Sorry to interrupt you. Looks like you’re still having trouble with your paperwork, Zeffen!”
“Welcome, Kyelse.”
It was Kyelse who came into Zeven’s office in high spirits. In a good mood, he gave his usual nasty remark to Zeven, then came over to where his lovely future wife was, facing some documents.
“Is there something I can help you with, Kyelse?”
“I just came to check it out.”
“is that so?”
Saying this, Kyelse picked up the stack of documents that Mitina had processed and quickly looked through them. As if he had immediately found a problem, he bent down and spoke in a soft voice.
“You’ve overlooked this.”
“Oh, that’s true. Thank you.”
“Hmph, it’s not something you should be grateful for. I just happened to be bored, so today I’ll teach you how to properly organize your paperwork!”
It seemed that Kyelse had come all the way here to spend time with Mitina once again. Knowing him, he must have really finished his work. Of course, it was to go and see Mitina.
Her mind crossed over the thought of Saren, who must have been searching for Kyelse. However, Mitina thought that they would soon reach this place, so she accepted Kyelse’s proposal without any particular concern.
So.
“Mitina”
“Yes, what is it?”
When Zeffen called her name, she looked up.
His voice was normal, and his face was wearing its usual gentle smile, but the words that came out of his mouth shocked her.
“Go and ask Kyelse for advice.”
“fart……?”
Zeffen smiled brightly, but somehow it felt like his eyes weren’t smiling.
Even the insensitive Mitina understood why Zeffen had said that, albeit a few beats late.
Essentially, he is criticising the idea that “couldn’t they just get that sort of thing done somewhere else?”
(I can’t believe that the mild-mannered Commander Zeffen would say something like that…)
Mitina immediately remembered her conversation with Istaria and immediately put her head in her hands. She realized that she may have been causing trouble to a great many people without realizing it.
In contrast to the anxious Mitina, Kyelse joyfully took her to her office. She was truly unaware of Zeffen’s slightest thorns, and was in a wonderful state of euphoria.
“Excuse me for bothering you…”
“Oh, take it as slowly as you like!”
She entered Kyelse’s office with her head down, it had been the first time she had set foot in there since the magical accident. Perhaps it would be best to tell Kyelse not to come to see her more than necessary.
While Mitina was worrying about this, Kyelse took her hand and made her sit in front of her desk. Without sitting down herself, she took a position next to her and began spreading out the documents she had brought with her.
“Shall we begin?”
“Um, Kyelse-dono, please have a seat. This is your seat, right?”
“I don’t mind. It’s easier to teach you this way. Besides, I can’t leave you standing there like that.”
Mitina was taken aback by Kyelse’s dazzling smile. Thinking back, ever since that day when their feelings were mutual, she had been smiling brightly like this more often, especially when they were alone.
(She seems so happy to be with me, so it’s hard to tell her to stop coming to see me…)
If she were to warn her to be a little more considerate of the trouble she was causing to those around her, Kyelse would surely be shocked. Just imagining Kyelse’s sad face made Mitina feel uneasy.
She decided to put off the unpleasant thought until they returned to the mansion and gazed intently at Kyelse, who was carefully explaining the situation to her.
Then, noticing his gaze, he smiled happily.
“What’s wrong? Were you mesmerized by my beauty?”
“That’s not the case though.”
“Then… do you feel the same way I do right now?”
“same?”
When she tilted her head curiously, Kyelse frowned slightly in annoyance. However, she soon returned her gaze to Mitina with a passionate look, and stroked her cheek longingly.
“I wish I could be by your side all the time, even while working…”
“Kyelse-san…”
“Lately, as soon as I finish work and have free time, I want to see you. No matter how much we spend time together at the mansion, it’s never enough, and I can’t calm down unless you’re nearby.”
As she gently reached out her hand to Kyelse, he leaned close to her cheek as if to pamper her. Seeing him like that, Mitina felt something like melancholy.
“If my lord had given me permission to duel, I would have been here right now with you in Kurogane’s office.”
“It can’t be helped. If Kyelse and Commander Zeffen were to duel with all their strength, it would be dangerous to destroy not only the arena but the castle itself.”
“Hmmm!”
Kyelse snorted in displeasure. She was still remembering the time her challenge to the duel was rejected, and her dissatisfaction was naturally building up.
“…I envy Zeffen.”
Before she knew it, Kyelse had become quite frank in front of Mitina about her feelings. Seeing this change, she smiled softly and lovingly stroked his cheek.
(Until now, Kyelse-dono hasn’t had anyone to depend on… so I’m sure she’s relying on me like this.)
Thinking about it like that, Mitina wanted to spoil Kyelse just as she wanted.
But that wasn’t good enough. Like Mitina, Kyelse held a responsible position. No matter how good he was, those around him would not tolerate what might seem to be his negligence.
“Kyelse.”
“Wh, what is it?”
“I hate to say this, but I think it’s best if you don’t come to see me too often while I’m at work.”
When I finally spoke, Kyelse looked surprised for a moment, but then she quickly frowned in dissatisfaction and gave me a pleading look.
Although she was almost frightened by his expression, she spoke in rapid succession.
“Instead”
“Instead?”
“I’ll have him take care of delivering the documents addressed to the Silver Knight. From now on, I’ll go and meet you.”
It must have been surprising that Mitina had said that of her own accord. Kyelse looked taken aback, but her expression gradually relaxed. It seemed she was pleased.
“I-Is that okay? It’ll just mean extra work… and you’ll have to make lots of visits to the Silver Corps.”
“Okay.”
Mitina smiled softly and gently took Kyelse’s hand.
“Because I’m going to meet my precious husband.”
“M-Mitina…”
“So today is special. Now, Kyelse.”
Accepting his longingly falling kiss, Mitina placed her hand on her shoulder. Then, snuggling up to him fondly, she whispered.
“Please teach me how to organize my documents properly. I’ll be right by your side.”
“Ah, ahh…!”
Kyelse’s cheeks were red, and she was smiling so sweetly that even a flower would be embarrassed. Mitina also smiled happily.
Mitina loved seeing him laughing happily like this. She hoped he would smile at her like this forever.
(This is what happiness is…)
Feeling this deeply, Mitina accepted Kyelse’s hand as it touched her yearningly.
With our cheeks pressed together, his hair caressing me so tightly it almost tickled, and feeling each other’s body heat, the guidance on the documents continued.
“Mitina, I love you…!?”
“What’s the matter?”
Kyelse was happily kissing the back of Mitina’s left hand, but then she widened her eyes as if she had noticed something.
I started to worry, wondering if he had suddenly developed symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, but he shook his head in a panic.
“N-nothing, it’s fine. That said, what do you want to eat tonight? I’ll make your favorite thing!”
“Is that sudden? Hmm… I love all of Kyelse-dono’s cooking, so I’m not sure what to do.”
“That’s right, that’s right! In that case, I’ll prepare a full course meal for you tonight!”
“thank you……?”
In this way, despite small changes, the peaceful and happy days continued without incident.
Ever since accepting Kyelse’s proposal and realizing her feelings for him, Mitina had come to love these ordinary, everyday moments from the bottom of her heart.
“Today’s training is over. Now, I think I’ll go and deliver some documents.”
“Mitina-san is also the type who will do anything for you.”
“Shut up. Clean up quickly.”
That day, Mitina had finished her training with Vite and was about to go and see Kyelse right away. Dismissing Vite’s teasing remarks, she carefully wiped the sweat off her face as if to tidy up, then let out a deep sigh.
“I don’t understand what’s so good about Kirillse Beusen at all.”
“I never expected you to understand anything.”
“Isn’t that terrible? But… it’s true that recently, that man has changed. He’s still a narcissist and condescending, but he doesn’t seem to be as prickly anymore. The Silver Knights were talking about that too.”
Mitina was about to leave the place quickly, but she stopped in her tracks when she heard Vite’s words.
“Kyelse has been really nice to me recently, she’s so sweet.”
“…………”
“Well, if a handsome, perfect superhuman could also possess kindness, he’d definitely be even more popular than he is now…”
Feeling a flutter in her chest for some reason, Mitina dismissed Vite’s words as nonsense and left the training ground.
(Right now, Kyelse-dono has no reason to be aggressive towards those around her… so it’s only natural that she seems to have become kinder.)
Mitina was thinking about this while carrying the documents she was to deliver to the Silver Knight. It almost felt like an excuse.
(But why… I feel uneasy and uncomfortable.)
But I thought that such feelings would disappear completely with the smile that Kyelse showed me every time I went to see her.
With such carefree thoughts in mind, Mitina headed to Kyelse’s office, however, she was brushed off by the commander’s assistant Saren, who did not appear to be welcoming her.
“Commander Kyelse is not here right now on break. I’ll take care of the documents. Get lost now.”
“is that so”
Perhaps because he was worried that Mitina might take his position as assistant captain of the Silver Knights, he was harsh towards her. To be honest, I think that’s inevitable.
However, Mitina was more shocked than she thought at not being able to meet Kyelse. She trudged back to the Silver Knights’ compound, receiving piercing looks from them.
(Just as Lady Istaria said, I was feeling excited too… I was happy that Kyelse-dono came to see me so often.)
Now I regret telling her to refrain from getting too close because I was going to see her.
(Even though I can meet her when I return to the mansion, I still feel lonely. I guess Kyelse-dono feels the same way.)
I was planning to spoil him as much as I could tonight. However, since he was being given a bath, a meal, and was being groomed as usual, it was Mitina who was being spoiled.
“Uh huh… back to work–“
Mitina sighed as she went outside and spotted a familiar head of platinum hair in a corner of the royal castle garden.
Seeing his back, she couldn’t help but smile lightly and tried to run up to him.
But.
“――――”
Kyelse turned around and was smiling brightly. And she was smiling at the Silver Knight nearby.
After seeing that scene, Mitina was overcome with the illusion that everything before her eyes was going dark.
